Floriane joined the Bordeaux Events Team in March. Although she still makes regular trips to and from Paris, the B2B events professional has made clear her decision to settle down in Bordeaux.

Hello Floriane, you are the new leader of the Bordeaux Events Team

What are your main tasks?

As the Marketing and Sales Manager at Bordeaux Events, my main task is to ensure that the hosting of events at our five venues (Bordeaux Exhibition Centre, Bordeaux Congress Centre, Hangar 14, Cité Mondiale Convention Centre and Palais 2 l’Atlantique) runs smoothly. From the first phone call to invoicing and the physical hosting of the event, I support the team in charge of the event (sales representatives, business manager) in their activities in order to ensure optimal customer satisfaction. I also work on marketing our brand to develop high added value and develop its reputation.

What would you like to introduce?

First of all, I have started a reflection process on the concept of the “customer experience”, which I see as a key aspect of our business relationships. This means asking how we can best assist our contacts from the first phone call to the end of the event. How can we improve the customer experience to ensure quality interactions and relationships founded on trust?

In terms of in-house activities, I would like to simplify certain processes to make them smoother and more efficient. 

What did you do prior to joining Bordeaux Events?

I began my professional career at Châteauform’, the European leader in residential seminars, where I had three wonderful experiences. I first started working as a sales representative for the brand “Les Maisons du Séminaire”. I then had the opportunity to help create the “Châteauform’ City” brand, which targets urban centres, by participating in the opening of the first five locations. There are now around twenty. For my last challenge, I set out for Amsterdam to open a new Châteauform’ location in the Netherlands.

After returning to France in 2018, I had the opportunity to join Sodexo, a company specialized in both the mass catering sector and the hosting of events at a selection of 20 exceptional venues through “Sodexo Prestige” (including Lido, Parisian boats, Eiffel tower restaurants, private hotels, business centres).

These wonderful experiences were all related to B2B and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sales.

What do you like most about your work?

Human relationships! I love interacting with people, from the representative of a direct selling federation to a tyre expert and doctors from a learned society… I love how our occupations allow us to meet so many different people.

What other occupation would you have liked to pursue?

Sommelier. I became very interested in wine for several years. I even completed the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 qualification.

We have a few questions for you, as someone who is new to Bordeaux.

Bay or ocean? Ocean

Dune or cannelé pastries? I love dunes!

Red, rosé or white? A glass of white, please.

Do you have any anecdotes you’d like to share? Just between us?

I had the opportunity to meet a world famous DJ… But I didn’t recognise him!

It was at the opening for the first Chateauform’City venue. I welcomed him as I would any other client. I only realized it a few minutes later when two hostesses asked me, “Oh, you know David Guetta?”  Oops!
